The Contacts tab is your central hub for every lead that has ever been imported into LinkInList, regardless of which campaign they belong to. From here you can search your entire database, drill into individual contact timelines, make bulk changes across hundreds of leads at once, and keep your list clean and compliant. This guide walks you through every action available. Open the Contacts tab in the left sidebar of app.linkinlist.com. You will see a paginated table of all your leads alongside their current intent score, status, and campaign assignment. Use the tools at the top of the table to find exactly what you need:
  • Search bar — search by name, company, job title, or email.
  • Status filter — show only leads with a specific status: New, Contacted, Replied, Meeting Booked, Not Interested, or Unsubscribed.
  • Intent Score filter — filter by tier (Hot / Warm / Cold) or enter a custom numeric range.
  • Campaign filter — view leads enrolled in a specific campaign, or leads not yet assigned to any campaign.
  • Account filter — if you manage multiple LinkedIn accounts under one LinkInList workspace, filter by account.
Filters stack — you can combine them to create precise views such as “all Hot leads in the Q3 Outbound campaign who have a status of New.”

Contact detail view

Click any lead’s name to open their detail view. This page gives you a complete picture of the contact in one place. From the detail view you can also initiate outreach across any of LinkInList’s channels — send a LinkedIn message, start a WhatsApp conversation, fire off an email, or enroll the contact in a Meta Ads audience — all without leaving the page.

Profile Info

Full name, LinkedIn URL, job title, company, email (if available), and current intent score with a visual tier badge.

Activity Timeline

A chronological log of every interaction across all channels: LinkedIn messages sent, email opens and clicks, WhatsApp reads, Meta Ad clicks, website visits (if integrated), and score changes.

Campaign History

Every campaign this contact has been enrolled in across any channel, including the current step they are on and the outcome of each touchpoint.

Notes & Tags

Your team’s notes and any tags applied to this contact, visible to all workspace members.

Updating a contact’s status

Lead statuses help you track where each person is in your pipeline. LinkInList updates some statuses automatically (for example, a contact moves to Replied when they respond to a message), but you can also update them manually at any time.
1

Open the contact's detail view

Click the lead’s name in the Contacts table to open their profile.
2

Click the status badge

Near the top of the detail view, click the current status badge (for example, New or Contacted).
3

Select the new status

Choose from the dropdown:
StatusWhen to use
NewLead imported but not yet contacted
ContactedAt least one outreach message has been sent
RepliedLead has responded to at least one message
Meeting BookedA call or demo has been scheduled
Not InterestedLead declined or disengaged; pause further outreach
UnsubscribedLead opted out; excluded from all future campaigns automatically
4

Save

The status updates immediately. The change is logged in the contact’s activity timeline with a timestamp and the workspace member who made the change.

Adding notes to contacts

Notes are private to your workspace and are never sent to the lead. Use them to record context from conversations, research findings, or next-step reminders.
  1. Open the contact’s detail view.
  2. Scroll to the Notes section and click Add Note.
  3. Type your note and click Save.
Notes appear in the activity timeline in chronological order alongside automated events, so you always have the full context of every touchpoint in one place.

Tagging contacts

Tags let you create custom groupings that go beyond the built-in filters. You can apply as many tags as you like to a single contact.
Use tags to segment contacts by industry (e.g., fintech, healthtech), ICP tier (e.g., tier-1-icp, tier-2-icp), or deal stage notes (e.g., champion-identified, needs-legal-review). This makes it easy to run targeted bulk actions on exactly the right slice of your database without building complex filter combinations every time.
To add a tag:
  1. Open the contact’s detail view.
  2. Click + Add Tag in the Tags section.
  3. Type a new tag name or select an existing tag from the dropdown.
  4. Press Enter or click Add.
To filter your Contacts table by a tag, open Filters and select the tag from the Tags dropdown.

Adding a contact to a campaign

You can enroll any contact into a campaign directly from their detail view — no need to navigate away.
  1. Open the contact’s detail view.
  2. Click Add to Campaign in the top action bar.
  3. Select the campaign from the list.
  4. Choose the step you want the contact to start from (default is Step 1).
  5. Click Confirm.
If the contact is already enrolled in the selected campaign, LinkInList will alert you and ask whether you want to re-enroll them from the beginning or a specific step.

Bulk actions

When you need to make changes across many contacts at once, use bulk actions instead of updating records one by one.
1

Select contacts

In the Contacts table, check the checkbox next to each contact you want to act on. To select all contacts matching your current filters, check the checkbox in the header row and click Select all [N] contacts in the confirmation banner that appears.
2

Open the bulk actions menu

Once one or more contacts are selected, a toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen showing available bulk actions.
3

Choose an action

Select from the following:

Add to Campaign

Enroll all selected contacts into a campaign in one click. Choose the campaign and starting step.

Export to CSV

Download a CSV of all selected contacts including all fields, intent scores, statuses, tags, and campaign history.

Change Status

Update the status of all selected contacts simultaneously (for example, mark a batch as Not Interested after a bounce event).

Delete

Permanently remove selected contacts from your workspace. This action cannot be undone.
The Delete bulk action permanently removes contact records and their full history. If you might need to re-import these leads later, use Export to CSV first to preserve a backup.

Exporting contacts

You can export any subset of your contacts — or your entire database — to CSV at any time.
  1. In the Contacts tab, apply filters to narrow to the contacts you want to export (or apply no filters to export everything).
  2. Select all filtered contacts using the header checkbox.
  3. Click Export to CSV in the bulk actions toolbar.
The exported CSV includes every field stored on the contact record:
  • First Name, Last Name, LinkedIn URL, Company, Title, Email
  • Current intent score and score tier
  • Current status and all historical status changes
  • Tags
  • Campaign enrollment history
  • Date imported and date of last activity
Exports are generated asynchronously for large lists. You will receive an in-app notification and an email with a download link when your export is ready.

Unsubscribe management

When a lead unsubscribes — either by clicking an unsubscribe link in a message or by being manually marked as Unsubscribed — LinkInList automatically:
  • Updates their status to Unsubscribed.
  • Removes them from all active campaign sequences immediately.
  • Flags their record so they are excluded from any future campaign enrollments, including bulk adds.
  • Logs the unsubscribe event in their activity timeline with a timestamp.
You cannot send messages to a contact with an Unsubscribed status. Attempting to add an unsubscribed contact to a campaign will result in that contact being silently skipped. This behavior is intentional and ensures compliance with messaging best practices.
You can view all unsubscribed contacts by filtering the Contacts table by Status: Unsubscribed. You can export this list if you need to suppress it in an external CRM or email platform.
If an unsubscribed contact reaches out to you directly and asks to be re-enrolled, you can manually change their status back to New from their detail view. This logs the re-engagement in their timeline and re-enables campaign enrollment.
